Levels On-Demand Blood Testing

Overview:

This article provides an overview of the Levels Metabolic Health Panel.

About the Metabolic Health Panel

Much of what we focus on at Levels is blood sugar, but glucose alone is not enough to measure metabolic health. That's why we’re excited to share a product we call the Metabolic Health Panel.

We've partnered with Scarlet Health, part of BioReference Laboratories, the largest full-service specialty lab in the US, to bring this service to our members. This service will bring a phlebotomist  to your home to do a quick blood draw, test your blood for several important markers [see list below] and show you results in your Levels app in just a couple of days.

The Metabolic Health Panel costs $179 and includes sample collection, laboratory analysis, and in-app results display

🤔 Why does bloodwork matter?

In order to truly understand and improve one’s metabolic health, there are many biomarkers (molecules) that we can measure. Maintaining healthy and stable glucose levels is integral to metabolic health, but many other biomarkers, such as insulin and cholesterol, measured through bloodwork, can give people deeper insight into their health and wellness.

The Metabolic Blood Panel tests 11 key markers of metabolic health:
  • HDL, LDL, and Total Cholesterol
  • Triglycerides
  • Total Cholesterol:HDL and Triglycerides:HDL ratios
  • Fasting Glucose and Fasting Insulin
  • HOMA-IR
  • HbA1c (marker for prediabetes)
  • hsCRP (marker for system-wide inflammation)

You can read more about these markers and optimal levels in a recent article we wrote with insight from several of our expert advisors.
